I was told by a pharmist that some people skin cannot take too high content of ALPHA HYDROXY ACID. is it true?

that's true, one of the reactions is that it irritates your eyes and the sensitive skin around them.I was told by a pharmist that some people skin cannot take too high content of ALPHA HYDROXY ACID. is it true?
It's very true, be careful what you do with that.I was told by a pharmist that some people skin cannot take too high content of ALPHA HYDROXY ACID. is it true?
Very true, it can lead to serious peeling and skin irriatation for some especially on the face.
Yes it is true.

- AHAs exfoliate the skin by removing the upper dead cell layer.

- Higher strength AHAs can cause burns if your skin is sensitive. Begin with a lower strength and then begin using higher strengths.

- Glycolic acid is the most common AHA used in skin treatments.

- AHA combinations can help erase fine lines and some discoloration and also treat blackheads.

- You should always use sunscreens while using AHAs. Skin becomes sensitive with exfoliation done by AHAs.
Yup, it can ';burn'; your face and it will peel.
yes its true. your pharmist didn't get their PHD for nothing!
Yes it's true. As mentioned by 'hopeful' , the acids are used as an exfoliating agent and will peel your skin down to a depth depending on the strength and concentration of the acid. While most AHA containing cleanser uses very small concentration, the higher concentrations are used mainly by physicians (like myself!) to treat various skin conditions and require careful monitoring and care when used.
