Want to start using alpha hydroxy acid. How should I use it?

Should I used it in a cleanser, moisturizer or night cream?

My goal is to get smooth skin now that my acne is gone. Would like to minimize the appearance of pores and smooth the fine lines. Also would like to keep acne from coming back.

Recommend any regimens or produts?Want to start using alpha hydroxy acid. How should I use it?
You know...you might want to think about waiting a bit longer (given your acne just cleared up) and consider a moisturizing regimen instead.

My thoughts are because products containing a significant amount of AHA's (depending on pH levels, etc) can often lead to mild skin irritations, redness and flaking. Which could be a mess.

Creams and lotions containing these AHA's are really designed for sun damage, wrinkles and age spots not really to prevent acne from returning.

Exfoliate with a product like St.Ives Apricot Scrub and then follow with a regular moisturizing cream from Neutrogena or Ponds would be a good start. Keep away from too much makeup or other greasy products. Then go from there...
